| Free movie downloads are not always what they seem | | Posted Wednesday, January 25, 2006 6:31:52 PM by Rose Martins | When it comes to downloading movies for free off the internet, there is a lot of black matter. A large percentage of these so called free movie downloads are actually illegal, and sometimes pirate copies.
Free online movie clips are another matter altogether. Most of these samples of free movie clips are teasers enticing you to either see the full movie in the theatre, buy the DVD or download it online at a price. Some websites offer free movies as a selling point, hoping to get you to purchase the new releases being sold online for download.
Amateur movie makers will also offer their movies for free in the hope that it will be viewed by an important and influential person in the movie game who will recognise their talent, and help them on their road to fame and fortune. Free movies cover a whole scope of genres, from interacial issues, to anime and subjects of interest to the more mature audience.
X-rated movies are not exempt from free movie downloads, and in fact, often one thinks that they are downloading a popular movie, when in actual fact the movie title is being used as a cover for an X-rated porn movie. You think that you are downloading a big name in movies for free but that is not the case.

| | | Horror at the movies | | Posted Thursday, January 25, 2007 1:05:28 PM by Blog57 Team | | But is it as precious as it was hoped to be? Pearl Theatre, located in the new $100 million Avenue North complex, is the first movie theater to open in North Philadelphia in almost four decades, but on the night of Dec. 6, it was just another stage for a city shooting. Days after the Pearl opened for business, shots were fired near Oxford Street, resulting in the hospitalization of a 16-year-old boy. More than a month has passed since then, but the effects of violence still linger. As local residents continue to worry about safety, surrounding store owners are just trying to stay in business. "I like it so far," said Danielle Stephens, 18. "It's nice and big." Stephens, a senior at South Philadelphia High School, was talking about the Avenue North complex which has 20 rental stores including Bank of America, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Foot Locker and Kochoos.... | |

| | | Nigeria: Trouble Bed | | Posted Tuesday, November 14, 2006 7:15:58 AM by Blog57 Team | | Movies, we were made to understand, depicts what happens in our society. One thing that baffles most people is the couples mid-night scenes. What most producers have made us to understand is that most couple don't have a romantic time, when they are on bed. What we see often is where couples, especially wives in deep thoughts cause sleepless nights most especially to their husbands. Trust mothers, instead of getting all the fondling, kisses and the best moments of their spouses attention and love, they will start encouraging their darling husbands giving them hopes and assurances that things will work out well. Most of these problems range from a troubled-mind from business perspective. What this scene reveals is either the father of the home is afraid of losing contracts or his detractors are plotting against him, or better still, the scenes are taken from the perspective of family issues, where the woman is worried about her mother in-law or she is worried about one of her children's bad behaviour.... | |

| | | On Movies | Hiring Cate Blanchett to lie there and bleed | | Posted Monday, November 06, 2006 7:10:35 AM by Blog57 Team | | Here's how to lure an A-list star to your project: Tell her that for most of the shoot, she'll be lying in a dark hut in the North African desert, pretending to be seriously wounded, fading in and out of consciousness. That's essentially what Alejandro González Iñárritu had as selling points when he went to offer Cate Blanchett a role in Babel. "Cate was always my first choice," says the director, who wanted the actress to play an American tourist, on an ill-fated vacation in Morocco, who gets hit by a bullet. The shooting, a stupid mistake by two sons of a goatherd, triggers an international incident - and a succession of events that ricochets across continents, from Los Angeles to Tijuana to Tokyo. "She didn't want to do it, because she was right: 'So, Alejandro, this is a role of a woman who is lying there bleeding.... | |
